In recognition of the fact that an essential aspect of professionalism is competence, concurrently with creating the Professionalism Commission, the Court passed rules establishing a mandatory continuing legal education requirement. A minimum of four of the total hours of legal education required for any two year reporting period must be in the area of professionalism, diversity issues, mental illness and addiction issues, civility, or legal ethics.[1] The Professionalism Commission is responsible for approving all courses and activities in the area of professional responsibility. In addition, the Professionalism Commission intends to partner with others to develop and/or publish model training resources in the area of professional responsibility.

If you are seeking approval of courses or activities in the area of professional responsibility, forms are available for your use. Check back with us, because we intend to update this area of our website on an on-going basis with a representative sampling of approved courses or activities and ideas or resources for sponsoring courses and activities.
