Illinois Law Schools The Professionalism Commission conducts professionalism programs for law students in Illinois. During law school orientation, a Supreme Court or Appellate Court Justice welcomes Illinois law students to the profession and administers an Oath of Professionalism to mark the beginning of the students' career in the law. Through small group discussions of problem-solving scenarios facilitated by practicing lawyers, the students explore ways to conduct themselves consistent with the highest ideals and expectations of the profession. The Professionalism Commission is developing programs to supplement the career services offered by law schools specifically with respect to professionalism issues. The goal will be to arm students with tools to assess and plan for a legal career in a rapidly changing world. Second and third year law students: check this website periodically for future programs. |
